Actress Lavanya Tripathi, wife of Varun Tej, has filed a complaint with the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police. As per the reports, the complaint has been filed after she was allegedly harassed on social media by a specific social handle posting defamatory content intended for her.
Allegations of defamatory posts on Instagram
As per a report by 123Telugu, Lavanya Tripathi alleged that a certain Instagram user made false allegations and objectionable remarks towards her and her family. This has caused her personal distress and is trying to put dirt on her reputation. The authorities have reportedly registered the case under Section 67 of the IT Act and Sections 78 and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which relate to offenses committed online. The officials are working to trace the individual behind this account through digital and technical evidence.
Lavanya Tripathi’s upcoming movie
Speaking of the upcoming release, Lavanya Tripathi will next be seen in ‘Sathi Leelavathi. The movie was announced to hit the big screens on March 6 but has been delayed. The news release of the film is yet to be announced by the makers.
Varun Tej’s next film
On the other hand, her husband, Varun Tej, is currently working on his next outing, which is an Indo-Korean comedy horror, ‘Korean Kanakaraju, directed by Merlapaka Gandhi. It is expected to be released in the summer of 2026.
How did Lavanya Tripathi and Varun Tej meet?
Lavanya Tripathi married Varun Tej, who comes from the grand Konidela family in the Telugu cinema, which includes Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, and Allu Arjun. The couple met each other during the film Mister, which was released in 2017. They became friends and later fell in love over the years. They got engaged on 9 June 2023 and married on 1 November 2023 in Tuscany.
They recently became parents after they welcomed their son, Vaayuv, who was born on 9 September 2025.
