Bengaluru: Stepping out to fetch food during lunch break turned tragic for 27-year-old bank employee Yogeshwari. She was crossing Dr Rajkumar Road in Rajajinagar Monday afternoon with a food packet when she was hit by a speeding Bullet motorcycle.

Yogeshwari, a resident of Kempegowda Layout in Laggere, was buying food from an eatery located opposite the private bank where she worked.

The biker, identified as Deepak, a student from Ulsoor, was said to be riding at high speed at the time of the collision, police said. Both Yogeshwari and Deepak suffered severe head injuries and were rushed to a nearby private hospital.

Yogeshwari succumbed around 9pm, while Deepak is undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Police registered a case of causing death by negligence against him and said his statement will be recorded once he recovers.
