NEW DELHI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday confirmed that 16 warm-up matches will be held from February 2 to 6 in the lead-up to the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup, which begins on February 7.
The preparatory fixtures will be spread across venues in co-host nations India and Sri Lanka. In India, matches will be staged at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) Ground 1 in Bengaluru, DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, and Chennai’s M.A. Chidambaram Stadium.
Sri Lanka will host warm-up games at the SSC Cricket Ground, R. Premadasa Stadium and Colombo Cricket Club Ground.
Defending champions India are scheduled to face South Africa in a warm-up match in Navi Mumbai on February 4, while India A will take on the USA on Monday evening before meeting Namibia on February 6.
The ICC also announced that fans looking to attend the USA v India ‘A’ and India v South Africa fixtures at DY Patil Stadium can purchase tickets online via BookMyShow or directly from the stadium box office.
The warm-up programme gets underway with Afghanistan vs Scotland in Bengaluru on February 2 and wraps up with India A’s clash against Namibia at the BCCI CoE on February 6. In India, all India and India A matches will be broadcast live on Star Sports and Jio Hotstar.
