Video: Actor Ram Charan, his daughter mobbed by fans outside Hyderabad hospital while visiting newborn twins

HYDERABAD: Telugu actor Ram Charan was mobbed by fans outside a hospital in Hyderabad when he arrived to visit his wife, Upasana Konidela, and their newborn twins on Sunday. The actor was accompanied by his two-year-old daughter, Klin Kaara Konidela.

Videos circulating on social media show Ram Charan attempting to make his way through a dense crowd while carrying his daughter in his arms.

The situation escalated moments after he stepped out of his vehicle, as fans surged forward, jostling him despite the presence of security personnel.

Visibly distressed, the actor was seen shielding his child and, at one point, pushing back against the crowd while urging people to clear a path.

The incident triggered sharp criticism online, with many users calling out the behaviour of the crowd and raising concerns over the safety of the child.

“He is going to meet his wife and newborn children—give him some privacy,” one user wrote. Another commented, No child should be subjected to this.

This is frightening and shows a complete lack of civic sense.” Several others described the incident as “disgusting” and “shameful”.

Ram Charan and Upasana announced the birth of their twins—a baby boy and a baby girl—through a joint post on Instagram on Sunday.

Sharing the news, the couple expressed gratitude, saying the women in their lives had been their greatest strength and thanking fans, family and well-wishers for their support.

Charans father and renowned actor Chiranjeevi also uploaded a post on his X handle, announcing the news. With immense joy and a heart full of gratitude, we are happy to share that @AlwaysRamCharan and @upasanakonidela have been blessed with twins - a baby boy and a baby girl, he wrote in the caption.

Both the babies and the mother are healthy and doing well. Welcoming these little ones into our family is a moment of pure joy and divine blessing for us as grandparents. We sincerely thank everyone for their prayers, love, blessings and good wishes -Chiranjeevi & Surekha, he added.
